Although MTC maximizes the use of the public transit delivery system, private providers are also utilized for service delivery. Both types of providers are held to the highest state and federal safety and service standards.

To become a provider in the network, transportation companies must meet and maintain minimum requirements.

To qualify for consideration to join the network a Transportation Provider must:

  • Have a minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated experience in operational success of administrating and delivering transportation service to the public.
  • Have a minimum of one (1) employee that does not perform driving duties.
  • Be a licensed private taxi cab in the cities of operation, or
  • Be a licensed limousine provider with the Michigan Department of Transportation, or
  • Be a human service nonprofit provider receiving 5310 funding from the Michigan Department of Transportation, and
  • Have a means to communicate and transmit data via the internet.
